Italian Musician Simone Mao

Our world is transforming and changing very quickly. Art and music were always the mirror of our society but we are living a strange process where we are actually appreciating pieces of music from the past.

Italian Musician Simone Mao

By Azad Karimi

Simone, young pianist from Italy, knows nothing about some of the cultural and historical similarities between the Kurds and the Romans in ancient times.

For example by Italian language Ciao is Hello and Chawai is Hello by Kurdish language. Rose is a type of flower by kurdish is Sore gull...It is very naturally Rose become Sore and both are Red by English...and many other words.

The Romans came to the Middle East before the birth of Jesus Christ. They wanted to follow the glories of Alexander the Great in Asia.

They first conquered Europe and entered Asia Minor and East Greece via the Balkans.

In Cappadocia they met the Medes. The Medes were the ancestors of the Kurds and Armenians today.

Today, Cappadocia is located in Turkey, where Kurds and Turks live.

The Romans defeated them at war with the Medes and took many of them captive to Europe. These captives of the Medes took their culture, language and religion to Rome. In Rome, their religion, which was Mithraism, developed. Centuries later, when the religion of the Roman people became Christianity, this religion and other ancient Roman religions became obsolete, and Rome became the center of Christian culture in the world.

History must be examined by the laws of cause and effect, not by  dream and bigotry. I told this story to my dear Simone and other young readers to reveal the wonderful secret of the cultural commonality of the nations between the two Kurdish and Roman nations, although these are found in ancient Latin texts.

I wish success to our young and kind Italian pianist Simone Mao. He must work hard and make eternal songs for his country and the people of the world.

Thank you!

1- Please present yourself (Name, education, job, Civil status and...)

. My name is Simone Mao. I'm a 21 years Old Italian pianist and teacher. I'm currently studying for bachelor degree in piano at the conservatory "Benedetto Marcello" in Venice.

2-what is your artistic specialize?

. I specialized myself in classical piano repertoire from the baroque to the contemporary age. During my studies and my experience as teacher with young students I focused in gestures and motions related to free and effective piano playing often using information from the Taubman approach for piano.

3- When and how did you become interested in this field of art?

. My first approach to piano music was merely a coincidence when I was 11. I had a friend during the last year of elementary school which used to play. One day he asked me if I could listen to him as he was preparing for a little exhibition. At the end of the performance I was very excited and curious about what was going on with the instrument. At home I found a little digital toy piano and I started to recreate from YouTube short classical pieces.

5- What was your parent’s reaction and who was your motivator?

.My family at first didn't want to find me a teacher. Fortunately my granduncle pressed them to have piano lessons. As soon as they saw I was making great progress they motivate me to continue. They supported me a lot, also when difficult times came with questions and various problems about the future.

6- When started you such as a professional artist?

. My first concert took place when I was 16 years old. From that period I started to perform in public and since I was 19 I teach piano and music.

7- Are you thankful and happy because of your activities as an artist?

. I am always grateful to be in the world of arts and music both because you bring the knowledge of you being to another level and also because you are privileged in the understanding of the world and nature.

8- How you see the view, the future of art, music, culture? You are an artist, you should have a opinion...

.Our world is transforming and changing very quickly. Art and music were always the mirror of our society but we are living a strange process where we are actually appreciating pieces of music from the past. This thing never happened in the history of music. I believe that encouraging the knowledge of our history and culture through the new technologies it's going to be an essential part of the work of the artists of the future.

9- Can you become one part of the artistic movement for motivation in youth or new generation in your country and so than?

10- How can you help our world become a better place to live?

. I'm a young musician yet, but I'm already working with young pianists. I strongly believe that the better we prepare the youth, the better the world in which we are going to live will be.

11- Have you more word to say or suggestion for our readers?

. Never stop believe in your capacity as human being! Sometimes happens to be blocked and frustrated, this is part of our lifes, but always find the way to do something.

My aim is "If you can't do something, change the way you are doing it".
